Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and in the past, she taught cooking. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook shows easy to master techniques, as well as her famous spiky blond tresses. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top restaurants within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy and competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and eating at the age of. The Culinary Institute of America was a natural next step for her when she finished with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a great learning experience for me. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) and attended an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. It was during this time that her experience in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian style of living and the culture and it has had an impression on her food and culinary experience. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten children's lives who are facing problems. Also, she's a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador which promotes an awareness campaign on juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor, she travels all over America to speak about her passion for cooking as well as her professional career. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has always said I feel so lucky to be able to share my passion to others.
